Meeting Appliance

Local meeting appliance · Early development

A simpler way to
bring the room together.

Meeting Appliance connects a room’s calendar to a dedicated meeting computer, helping hosts find the right video call and join intentionally.

This is the public information site. Calendar access and meeting operation happen on the locally managed appliance.

What the app does

The current Calendar setup reads upcoming events and their meeting links from an account authorized by the appliance operator. It verifies the account identity and keeps the authorization on the local computer.

The project is developing a television dashboard and paired phone controls for joining and leaving Google Meet calls. Those features are still being qualified. The project is intended to become a reusable open-source appliance; a public software release is not yet available.

You decide when to join

Calendar authorization does not join a call. The design requires an intentional action before joining and clear microphone and camera status during use.

Why Google access is requested

Read-only Calendar events provide meeting times, titles and links. Basic email identity confirms that the intended account was authorized. The app does not request permission to create, change or delete calendar events.

Read the privacy policy for data handling and removal, and the terms of use for the current prototype.

Support

For this installation, contact the appliance operator using the support email shown on Google’s consent screen. Never send passwords, authorization tokens or private meeting links in a public support request.
